Whose going out to feed those chickens?

..or maybe, Where and how are those two little dogs going to ..."go out?"

The last time we experienced a blizzard like this, Steve and I got snowed in at the home of good friends.
We had no children.
This time I click through my mind how this might impact all my "chicks"...circumstances I couldn't have imagined in 1978. Becky explaining to my grandbaby, Eden that she can't go to her much loved Cherry Lane Pre-school today. Megan calling salon clients to reschedule appointments and settling in to watch Ellis's absolute favorite,"Toy Story 3" for the umpteenth time. Adam hunkering down with his sweet Caity as they await the arrival of their firstborn...hopefully NOT before the streets are passable. Christian looking out at the California sunshine and his backyard fruit trees bending with Clementines that taste, seriously like orange candy....saying he wishes HE was hunkering down for a blizzard.

It's nice when a storm like this hits and there is tacit agreement that we all suspend life for afew hours. I find myself eagerly pulling out my fantasy that I will use this time to "catch up" with life. But I am already distracted by watching the swirling snow continue to fall. Maybe I'll make those scones and pick up my knitting for afew minutes instead.....
